Which size gas bottle do I need?
TopGas supplies 9kg, 15kg forklift, 18kg and 45kg LPG gas bottles across Auckland's North Shore and Hibiscus Coast. As a rule of thumb: a 9kg bottle for the BBQ, two 45kg bottles for home hot water and heating, and a 15kg cylinder for a forklift.

15kg Forklift
A lighter, vertical-mount LPG cylinder built for forklift fuel systems, commonly supplied in aluminium.
18kg
Suited to heavier household and hospitality use like home heating & cooking, outdoor entertaining, restaurants & food trucks, construction sites, and workshops.
45kg
A high-capacity cylinder for heavy gas demand for home heating and hot water, commercial kitchens and continuous heavy-duty use. Typically installed in pairs (standard NZ home setup uses two 45kg bottles on a changeover valve).
9kg gas bottle
The everyday portable LPG bottle, sized for BBQs, patio and cabinet heaters, caravans and camping. Bring your empty bottle into our Pinehill store at 646 East Coast Road and swap it for a full, checked, in-test bottle on the spot. If you'd rather keep your own bottle, we'll refill it while you wait.
15kg forklift cylinder
Made to fit forklift fuel systems and keep warehouse and logistics fleets moving. We deliver 15kg forklift cylinders straight to your site, and we can refill your own in-store. Set up a business account for invoicing and scheduled deliveries, so you're not chasing gas mid-shift.
18kg gas bottle
A step up from the 9kg for heavier use: home cooking and heating, outdoor entertaining, cafés, food trucks, workshops and building sites.
45kg gas bottle
The standard home setup for gas hot water, heating and cooking, and a good fit for busy commercial kitchens. Most homes run two side by side on an automatic changeover valve. When one runs empty, the system switches to the full one, and that's your cue to order. We deliver a full TopGas bottle and take your empty away, usually within 1–5 working days, across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Hobsonville. As a rough guide, one 45kg bottle lasts about 5–8 weeks for a family of four using gas for hot water.
